Fan Yuepei
Fan Yuepei Born 1897, a native of Donghai, Jiangsu.
Educator and editor.
Graduated from the Jiangsu Provincial Normal College, which was known for its work in mass education.
He served as director of the middle school affiliated with the Jiangsu Provincial Normal College.
He held a post at the Jiangsu Provincial Donghai Normal School.
In 1931, he joined the Shandong Provincial People’s Education Center.
In 1934, he served as a member of the Editorial Committee of the Research and Experimental Department of the Shandong Provincial People’s Education Center.
During the Anti-Japanese War, he worked in the First Social Education Work Group of the Ministry of Education, later became director of the Lanzhou Social Service Office, and served on the Council of Social Education.
In 1946, he served as dean of studies at Zhongshan Middle School in Guilin, Guangxi, and later as academic dean of Zhongzheng Middle School in Qingdao.
In 1947, he became editor of the “National Language Tabloid” (“Guoyu Xiaobao”).
Works and Publications:
- In April 1932, he published articles in the “Shandong People’s Education Monthly”, including “An Overview of the Current Implementation of Leisure Education in Various Places”, “How to Run People’s Schools”, and “An Examination of County Popular-Sentiment Newspapers”
- In 1936, he serialized “Notes on Pioneering Rural Education” in the journal “Primary School and Society”
- Edited and published the book “How to Run People’s Schools”, proofread by Zhu Zhixian
- Edited and illustrated the book “Biographies of Patriotic Heroes”, with phonetic annotation by Xiao Jialin and Kong Fanjun
